Iron Horse NYC

The Iron Horse has been named BEST BAR TO MEET SOMEONE IN NEW YORK by CBS Local New York

Not to be confused with the upstate watering hole where the late, great Paul Newman shot his Oscar-nominated classic Nobody's Fool, this downtown (and lowdown) NYC saloon is a great place for extroverts and gadabouts eager to gather and blow off some truly hedonistic post-work steam in rowdy and raunchy style. A much saltier (and far less crowded) option than Coyote Ugly, the Horse's bra-clad fire-spitting crew (magazine model / drink-slinging skydiver Trish Lyndon is one of several local legends to have tended bar) is equally sexy, brazen and improvisational when it comes to breaking the ice with both its male and female patrons, who happily sip $2 cans of Rolling Rock while the bar gals perform stunts that involve everything from chocolate syrup to a flying trapeze. High-end drinks and classy behavior isn't an issue here. The Iron Horse is all about letting your hair down and having fun. Prudes who find it lewd, hey ... don't the let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya. For churchgoing sorts, there's "Free Burger Sunday," where if — between noon and 10pm — you order any drink (except Rolling Rock), you get a free burger or hot dog.

Once again, my friends and I found ourselves at Iron Horse NYC. The quirky crossroads where mohair suits tangle with oiled leather; where bearded highway pirates and desk jockies mix and mingle.

I'd go back to this place just for one reason - Biker babes bartenders overflowing with energy and enthusiasm. They are very friendly and cheerful. Full of wild crazy fun, its worth visiting here.

This is my new favorite bar. It's on a little side street just off the Fulton Street subway terminal.

Bottom line: This place is a shitshow. If you are looking for a hilarious evening and you're willing to be spanked by a bartender with your own belt, Iron Horse is the bar for you. Don't be scared like I was - I never knew what I was missing out on this whole time. Boyfriend wants me to add: Best bartenders in the city!

Had a great time to begin our celebration of the 4th of July. Although we were there too early for the advertised pig roast they were still serving hot dogs and burgers until the pig was cooked. Had a blast inside with the $2 rolling rocks. Definitely a fun time and would go back.

Love this place. The most fun you'll have at a bar anywhere in NYC. Located right near Fulton St. station for easy traveling convenience and South Street Seaport is this gem. I went on Halloween and had a blast. The service is what was the best. Also that it is very friendly on your wallet. Outstanding cheap prices for HUGE selection of alcohol. Hot girls in costumes dancing on the bar, people having fun & being social, a swing that is used, fire being blown, an incredibly friendly staff, a party atmosphere, and great food; you and your friends will have the time of your life. Recommended to anyone.

I went to the Iron Horse for the 3rd time in the past couple of years over the week-end with some friends/family and a great time was had by all. The drinks were reasonably priced, the music was a variety or rock, pop, and even some old school rap and the bartenders were friendly. No complaints except that the music can get very loud... especially if you go on a Saturday night (after 9 pm). If you're looking for a fun time, come here! You won't be disappointed.
